Concert At The Kings Raises Awareness And Funds For Charity

May 2012

(UK) The team behind Concert At The Kings are gearing up for the inaugural fundraising event, featuring a star-studded line-up.

Concert At The Kings is a one day festival which takes place at All Cannings in Wiltshire and is being held in aid of Rock Against Cancer on Saturday 26 May 2012.

The billing includes Mike & The Mechanics, The Strawbs, Dave Kelly, The Wurzels, The Sweet, the SAS band, Madeline Bell, Chris Thompson, Patti Russo & The Fabba Girls, and an all star cast including Brian May & Kerry Ellis, Midge Ure and Tom Robinson.

Rock Against Cancer is a relatively new angle at rasing funds, thought up by Monitor Engineer, John 'Grubby' Callis, Andy Scott (The Sweet) and Richard Baulu of The Kings Arms, All Cannings. Their aim is to raise awareness and much needed funds for Cancer Research UK and Above & Beyond Bristol (Oncology Centre).

They plan to donate the proceeds from this event which will be somewhere in region of £50,000+ to Cancer Research UK and also make a large donation to Above & Beyond in Bristol.

This show is the first of what they hope will become an annual event of raising much needed funds for cancer research and hope that in the future to have many different events running throughout the UK.

Grubby and Scott are still in the process of fighting prostate cancer so they both know more than most about how important this is to those who are also fighting this terrible disease.
