ADJ to Create Pure Lighting at DJ Expo 2018

ADJ to create pure lighting excitement at DJ Expo 2018.

The ADJ team will be at the annual DJ Expo event in force; showcasing a range of the company’s latest products, including fixtures ideal for use by mobile entertainers.

Taking place in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the annual DJ Expo event brings together DJs and venue owners from across the US to check out the latest gear, network with peers and learn from a series of seminars, panels and workshops.

“DJ Expo is an exciting event that we always enjoy attending,” commented ADJ USA’s National Sales Manager, Alfred Gonzales.

“It’s visited by lots of mobile entertainers and small production company owners, so we’ll be showing off fixtures that will be of interest to them. But the show also attracts many club DJs, promoters and even club owners, so we’ll also be featuring equipment suitable for installation in bars, clubs and lounges.”

ADJ’s popular AV Series of LED video panels continues to expand and at this year’s DJ Expo visitors will have the chance to experience the latest new addition, the AV2. With a low pixel pitch of 2.97mm (0.17”), the AV2 is ADJ’s highest resolution panel to date, making it ideal for installation in nightclubs and lounges as well as for use by mobile entertainers and production companies to display custom content and music videos.

Also suitable for both permanent installation and portable applications is the latest addition to ADJ’s Entour range of professional effect generators. The Entour Faze is a compact and flexible atmospheric enhancer that combines a 450W faze machine and water-based fog fluid along with a high-power fan to create a thin lightshow-enhancing mist. Featuring patent-pending rapid heater technology, the unit can be ready to produce haze in just 40 seconds, while a 3-liter fluid tank means that it can keep going all night is necessary.

Another professional-caliber fixture recently added to the ADJ range that will be on display at DJ Expo is the Encore Burst 200. This innovative fixture combines the power-saving and long-life benefits of an LED light source with the classic blinder effect in a modular outdoor rate case design that allows it to be deployed in a variety of different configurations.

Powered by a pair of 110W warm white (2700K) CREE COB LEDs, the fixture boasts cutting-edge ‘dim-to-warm’ technology that lowers the colour temperature as the intensity decreases to emulate the dimming characteristics of traditional filament-based lamps.

It was recently announced that ADJ has taken over the development, support and sales of the popular Compu Show lighting control software. This advanced PC application is designed for programming and controlling large rigs of moving heads and other professional entertainment lighting fixtures.

It provides a logical next step for existing users of ADJ’s myDMX software who need additional universes of DMX channels to support larger shows. Compu Show is available in three different versions, on a sliding pricing scale, which makes it accessible to users at different levels and with different budgets.

Meanwhile, myDMX has been in no way neglected. The innovative new myDMX RM interface has recently been launched, which features 16 assignable trigger buttons. These can be programmed within the myDMX software and then used to playback lighting scenes even if the computer running the software has been disconnected. Both Compu Show and myDMX, as well as the myDMX RM, will be showcased at DJ Expo, allowing visitors the opportunity to assess which control solution is most appropriate for their particular needs.

ADJ will also feature their HEX IP Series fixtures at DJ Expo. The 7P HEX IP, 12P HEX IP and 18P HEX IP all feature a distinctive metallic casing design with an IP65 rating, making them suitable for use both indoors and outdoors regardless of the weather conditions. Offering a beam angle of 30-degrees, each of these fixtures utilises an arrangement of powerful 12-Watt 6-in-1 HEX (red, green, blue, amber, white & UV) LEDs to provide lighting designers, integrators and installers with a huge palette of colours including UV-infused hot pink, lime green and electric blue.

All three units are equipped with powerCON True1 input and output sockets as well as IP-rated 3-pin DMX input and output sockets fitted with waterproof rubber caps. This means that IP-rated power and DMX linking cables can be used for outdoor applications, however standard XLR and powerCON cables can also be utilised if the fixtures are used indoors.

One of ADJ’s most popular moving head fixtures, especially for use by mobile entertainers and for installation in small nightclub and bars, is the Pocket Pro. This incredibly compact unit is powered by a potent 25W white LED and offers advanced features including professional powerCON power input and replaceable GOBOs (accessible via a simple-to-use EZ OPEN cover). The ADJ booth at DJ Expo will showcase both the original Pocket Pro as well as the Pocket Pro Pearl model which features an all-white exterior housing.

As exciting as it is to check out the latest lighting, video and effects equipment, sometimes it’s auxiliary items that end up being the most useful finds at an exhibition like DJ Expo. A great example is ADJ’s new POW-R BAR65, a forward-thinking utility power block designed especially for working entertainers and entertainment technology professionals.

Boasting six surge-protected AC sockets, a 4-port USB 3.0 hub and an additional USB power socket, this tough accessory is the ideal solution for distributing power in a DJ booth. Meanwhile, the POW-R BAR LINK model, which features six surge-protected AC sockets together with powerCON input and output sockets, is ideal for providing power to a stage or lighting rig.

Another useful ancillary item that will be on display at DJ Expo is the UNI LT2 laptop stand. This versatile universal stand is designed to allow Digital DJs or Lighting Jocks to elevate their laptop above their DJ console, lighting controller or FOH desk. Finally, ADJ’s innovative new LTS Color will also be on display.

This unique lighting stand features legs constructed from robust opaque polycarbonate filled with multi-coloured LEDs. This causes the legs to glow in a choice of 20 different static colors, or change color automatically at variable speed, making the LTS Color ideal for mobile entertainers who want to add a new dimension to their lightshow or for lighting pros looking for a sleek way to highlight the potential trip hazard posed by the tripod legs of their lighting stands.

DJ Expo will take place August 13-16 2018, at Harrah’s Resort in the marina district of Atlantic City, a new venue for 2018.
