HÖG Light & Sound supplied the Nelli Matula tour with an Allen & Heath dLive C1500 for FOH and a custom dual-touchscreen controller for monitors, both running in multi-surface mode from a single DM48 MixRack.
The system also included a DX168 expander for remote I/O, Dante card, and a Waves3 card for multi-track recording and virtual soundcheck.
Tour Manager and FOH engineer, Temi Kinnunun, explained why Allen & Heath dLive was an easy choice: “I’m a long-time Allen & Heath user and I’ve been using dLive ever since it was launched. The best feature of dLive is the user interface and the preamp sound.”
Running the touchscreen system with Director software for monitors, Kari Mäkimartti commented: “I decided to adopt the Director software because it enables integration of all other software on one touchscreen computer at the same time. This makes the system compact and really fast to set up.”
He added: “I can’t think of a situation I can’t handle with dLive. The band, the artist and the dancers are all extremely happy with the sound quality. The desk simply produces an amazing sound and I use the Dyn8 multi-band dynamics processing a lot when I’m mixing.”
Mäkimartti who’s also new to Allen & Heath consoles added: “I spent a few days familiarising myself with the dLive family and now I don’t want to give it up! I use the desk all the time and in different configurations – the sound is great and the selection of tools is extensive.”
