Southern Norway’s performing arts centre Arendal Kulturhas, have invested in a new DiGiCo SD5 console, supplied by Scandec Systemer, DiGiCo’s Norwegian distributor.
The technical manager for the arts centre, Finn Cato Anderson, was tasked with ensuring that the chosen console had the versatility needed to cover the variety of projects the venue hosts.
“We looked at several consoles from different brands to find the functionality that we wanted,” explained Finn. “We were looking for a console with a highly flexible user-interface and good Snapshot/automation functionality as we do everything from theatre and musical production to corporate events and rock concerts at Arendal Kulturhus. We also wanted to invest in a system that is easily expandable and future proof”.
Arendal Kulturhus opted for the DiGiCo SD5, with an additional Optocore loop and Waves SoundGrid module, providing instant access to 16 fully integrated low-latency Waves stereo Multi Racks, each with the ability to have up to 8 plugins per rack.
“The SD5 caters for all our wishes because of its flexible user-interface and comprehensive Snapshot capability, and the Optocore loop makes it easy to expand I/O when we need to,” says Finn. “The SD5 is an extremely powerful system and, for us, it was important to invest in a futureproof system that will suit our needs for many years to come.
“We have had our system for some weeks now and we are really happy to have such a great tool to work with.”
