Brompton Technology Selected for AI Conference

Essay Video was chosen to manage EGG 2019 NYC, a conference concerning artificial intelligence (AI) hosted by leading data science and machine learning platform specialists, Dataiku. With sister conferences taking place in London, San Francisco and Paris, EGG explores real-world use cases at leading industry companies who are successfully utilising AI and hot topics like machine learning interpretability.

Using a range of formats from in-depth presentations to technical workshops, New York based Essay Video devised an AV set-up based around LED video systems, utilising Brompton Technology’s Tessera LED processors to meet the technical challenges of the conference.

“We selected Brompton processors for this project due to their superior control of colour display onscreen – for us, it’s proven to be the best in LED processing,” said Greg Fellows, founder and CEO of Essay Video. “Another factor we had to consider was the moiré effect when the client or any delegates take photographs of the screen. Going the LED route using 4K processing and high-density pixels allowed for clear photos to be taken without the appearance of large-scale interference patterns.”

Essay Video specified a landscape 30ft by 10ft LED screen, comprising ROE Black Pearl 2.8mm panels with a three to one aspect ratio, fed from a Brompton Tessera SX40 high capacity processor with Brompton Tessera XD Data Distribution unit.

Brompton’s SX40 processor offers a multitude of features, such as support for full 4K screens at 60Hz with 12 bits per colour output, a zero-latency up/down scaler that matches the source to the screen, plus all of Tessera’s industry-leading processing features such as ChromaTune colour correction and On Screen Colour Adjustment (OSCA).

Combined with the XD unit, a sophisticated data distribution solution designed to manage the complications of mass cabling that can arise with large LED display systems, the SX40 provides a cost-effective yet powerful system that will support the very biggest LED projects.
