Randy Mullican becomes Main Light CEO

Randy Mullican named CEO of Main Light.

Main Light has confirmed the appointment of Randy Mullican to Chief Executive Officer. Having been with Main Light for 27 years, most recently as General Manager, Mullican brings a deep understanding of the company and its proven dry hire business model.

Mullican has worked closely with Main Light’s Owner and Chairman, Michael Cannon, over this past year as the team have adjusted the company’s operations and expansion to three locations—Wilmington, DE (Main Light, East); Las Vegas, NV (Main Light, West); and Nashville, TN (Main Light, South).

Cannon, who purchased Main Light a little over a year ago, stated: “The bright spot of the whole deal in acquiring Main Light, was the great team I inherited. They have all been fantastic, and the leader of that great team is Randy Mullican. I felt that with Randy’s years of service and his expanding responsibilities with now overseeing three locations, that it was absolutely the right time to promote Randy to the role of CEO of Main Light. I know he is the right person to lead the Main Light team and the company going forward.”

As CEO, Mullican takes the reins of the well-respected dry hire company aware of the need to find the balance of its expanded national presence while maintaining Main Light’s well-deserved reputation for efficient, responsive, and cost-effective customer service. “I will be taking a much larger view of the organisation to focus and guide the company than I did as GM,” commented Mullican.

“I feel that I am up for the challenges. We must make sure that we have the right mix of technology and equipment in our inventory to support our client’s needs across the company and at each location. Also, that we have the right mix of Main Light team members to properly support all of our clients to Main Light’s standards. As a dry hire solution, we don’t go directly to designers and technicians, but to production and rental houses. Main Light is focused on being here to support their need for equipment, especially now as the industry gets back to work in a serious way.”

That support includes being where the clients’ need is, which is why listening to clients’ requests, Main Light opened in Las Vegas in 2021 and will in April open a new 70,000 sq. ft. facility in Nashville, TN. “We strongly believe that Nashville was a market that needed a dry hire solution. There are a lot of production companies and rental houses supporting that market, and the southeast region may not have the capital to have a large inventory. We feel that it is a good opportunity for Main Light, South to help those shops get their shows done with the equipment that the production teams need,” Mullican noted.

“It’s an honour to be recognised for my work at Main Light in this way,” concluded Mullican. “I look forward to working with Michael and the entire incredible Main Light team, as we together continue to support our clients.”
