Second Warehouse hires Barney Jameson as Chief Marketing Officer

Resurgent online cross-hire platform builds out its corporate team with the addition of Barney Jameson.

Barney Jameson has joined the growing leadership team of Second Warehouse, the online platform that speeds up and simplifies Pro AV cross-rental. Effective immediately, Jameson takes on the role of Chief Marketing Officer as the redesigned and rejuvenated Second Warehouse rolls out across Europe and the United States.

Jameson is the founder and Managing Director of The Inside Story, a leading marketing agency serving a global portfolio of clients within the Pro AV and professional security markets. He will continue in that role alongside his duties as Second Warehouse CMO.

In addition, Jameson is also the co-founder of Security on Screen B.V., a director of the Security Industry Group, a board-member of not-for-profit organisation Make Music Day UK, and a trustee of grassroots music charity Local & Live Music.

Jameson previously helped to launch Second Warehouse to acclaim in 2018. The platform was an instant hit with European Pro AV rental companies for whom equipment cross-hire is both an essential source of revenue and the backbone of day-to-day inventory management. However, a planned roll-out across the United States was paused when COVID-19 struck, causing unprecedented challenges for the Pro AV community.

Now Second Warehouse is back with fresh funding, a new headquarters in the United States and a greatly strengthened leadership team including CEO Phil Van Peborgh, Head of Sales Will Lewis and Founder Stuart Kerrison. Jameson describes himself as humbled to join them.

“Second Warehouse is very dear to my heart and I’ve been delighted to watch it make such a strong return from the challenges of the pandemic,” he said. “There are big plans underpinning the platform and a strong team of industry leaders steering the way forward. I consider it a compliment to be on the squad.”
