Having supplement existing inventory of technical production stock to University of Chester for a several years, Sterling Event Group were called upon to proceed with an ‘energy efficient’ upgrade of the education institute’s growing technical production facilities.
Sterling Event Group worked closely with University of Chester’s Technical Team Leader, Colin Blanchard to devise a solution for the two studios – to be used for dance, drama, live music performances and conferences – that encompassed energy saving and production quality enhancing properties.
“They were able to provide advice on a range of fixture options and also presented a very competitive quote, arranging prompt delivery to meet our limited timescale,” commented Blanchard.
CHAUVET Professional lighting fixtures were the “obvious” manufacturer of choice to execute this install, according to Sterling Event Group Director, Dan Charmer. “With over 400 CHAUVET Professional lighting fixtures in our rental stock, we were confident enough to provide an option which enhances the university’s performance experience.”
The solution saw the delivery of a full move to LED for the main studio, a new install to a second smaller studio, and additional loose kit. Across the two performance studios loads were cut from roughly 39KW to just 10KW, while maintenance costs were also reduced. “The user experience is now much more streamlined with almost endless colour options available,” Charmer remarked.
The CHAUVET Professional equipment provided by Sterling Event Group included Maverick MK2 Profiles, Ovation F-915FC Fresnels, Ovation E-910FC Profiles and Ovation P-56FC Pars
