Women in AV are pleased to reveal its mentees and mentors for the first mentoring scheme for women in the AV industry. The programme will see experienced leaders from the industry guide 19 women at varying levels of seniority, offering their expertise, knowledge and support.
The six-month programme has three main strands: a monthly session with a mentor; a monthly meet up with fellow mentees where they present on their part of the AV sector and thirdly additional networking events and workshops with guest speakers.
“The WAVE mentoring scheme is a step change in encouraging individuals to strive to become better at what they do but also supporting them in promoting diversity in their workplace,” commented Abigail Brown, who has led the WAVE UK group since 2014, alongside running her own recruitment business, Openingz.com. “We are so pleased with the number of people who applied for the scheme and are thrilled to be able to offer our mentees the experts that have signed up. We know that this is going to be a great programme and look forward to supporting the AV sector.”
