4Wall Entertainment have invested in FLX S Series consoles by Vari-Lite and a Signify (Euronext: LIGHT) entertainment lighting brand. The Vari-Lite FLX S Series of consoles combine controls and features in a form factor for smaller applications.
“We are using the Vari-Lite FLX S Series consoles on rentals and events where budget and space are a consideration, but feature set is still important,” said Steven Way, General Manager, at 4Wall Boston. “This console fills the need well for controlling conventional/LED fixtures and a few moving lights. We found the FLX S Series to be a straightforward, small form factor console with options typically found in larger consoles.”
“The FLX S consoles’ initial rental went to a client that required a small, easy-to-learn console that had to be run by different operators controlling six identical lighting packages in six different locations over several weeks,” explained Way. “Beyond the 4Wall-supplied lighting rental package, the client needed a console to control set-mounted LED tape via Art-Net. This was an essential factor in our specification of the FLX S Series.”
“Our team was able to comprehend the console very quickly, because it was quite intuitive. Our client also felt very comfortable learning the console, which allowed them to then train the six different operators for this project,” Way added.
The Vari-Lite FLX S Series consoles have already proven successful for 4Wall. “We have been moving clients towards the FLX, selling them on features such as its external display, pallet layout, cue viewing, colour picker and encoders. The feedback from our clients has been extremely positive.”
