Robe’s BMFL Spots were LD Steve Brody’s fixture of choice as French DJ and music producer DJ Snake performers at Colorado’s Global Dance Festival in July.
Staged in the Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver, the festival was one of a number of dates the DJ has played this summer, with LA-based Brody joining him for the duration of the tour.
A total of 12 BMFL Spots, supplied by the Denver-based DSI Event Group, were rigged overhead on six finger trusses – two per truss – with another six on the deck upstage of the DJ booth. Behind this was a large LED screen.
The French EDM star’s set is played completely live and the visual team also includes VJ Danny Purdue. Without a planned set list or cue structures, Purdue, Brody and DJ Snake all communicate with one another throughout the show, improvising colours, drops, blackouts, moves and accents.
DJ Snake returns to the US on Friday 19 August for a string of dates in Oakland, California and Las Vegas.
