The July 2020 launch of the fifth annual green survey has been refocused, to understand the impact of COVID-19 on event organisers’ sustainability ambitions and plans for reducing their carbon impacts and inform a green recovery for the event sector.
Festival and outdoor event organisers are invited to take five minutes to fill out the 2020 industry green survey. Vision 2025’s Communications Manager, Bethan Riach stated: “We would usually ask organisers to share what they had done and learned this season, but without any live events, we are instead looking forward. What is now important, is that the COVID-19 recovery for events is a sustainable one. We want to understand how this year has affected event organisers’ ambitions and plans for sustainability for the future.
He added: “There are a lot of pressures on the industry, so the Vision 2025 steering group wants to be sensitive and shape the resources and support we offer, to give the most realistic routes to reducing carbon impact.”
Armed with this information, Vision 2025 plan to release its findings and suggestions after the summer via their online knowledge hub, www.vision2025.org.uk
