A new partnership has been announced by lighting designers Ross Chapple and Nick Jevons. Auratecture brings together the combined creative talent of these two lighting and production designers to offer a ‘design house’ with a bold artistic vision.
The duo share a mission to challenge their clients to push design boundaries and to bring striking and unique looks to the stage through visually creative technical production design.
“We have a historical friendship stretching back over a decade, during which time we have admired each other’s creativity and work ethos,” explained Jevons. “Our individual artistic visions are contrasting yet complementary, and we felt the time was right to bring our thinking, skills and resources together to build something really special – a design partnership where our creativity could nurture exciting new collaborations.”
“Nick and I are both musically driven people, and are gravitating in a world of quality music and design,” expanded Chapple. “Creating impact to complement the musical foundation and the artist’s own vision is where we are focused. We want to help our clients draw their music out visually through the designs we create for them, and for those designs to represent the artist in a truthful way.”
“Our company name reflects entirely our guiding principles of creating lighting design for impact, and producing the right ‘aura’ for our clients,” Chapple continued. “But we do this from a very architectural perspective whilst being entirely relevant to the musical style. Shape, form and architecture are the backbone of our designs, helping to create a narrative for our clients and their music.”
“Our drive and passion for lighting design is all-consuming and we can’t wait to see what our new partnership will create and who we will collaborate with, from an artist perspective, as well as production companies and manufacturers,” Jevons concluded.
