Neumann & Müller Veranstaltungstechnik (N&M) has invested in MAC Viper XIP fixtures, the next generation of moving lights from Martin Professional.

MAC Viper lights have been a regular feature of N&M equipment for the past 12 years, but the time came when a successor was urgently needed. The demands placed on the equipment have grown enormously in line with technical developments, and many once trailblazing functions have now become standard.

“We have had a good partnership with Martin Professional for many years now. It has been marked by ongoing communication, in which we have regularly informed Martin about our practical experience with their products,” said Johannes Wagner, N&M Project Manager and member of the company’s Lighting Committee. “We are convinced that this professional dialogue holds great potential for all involved. Both firms subject their work to equally high standards, so occasionally putting our heads together is worthwhile and rewarding.”

Wagner added: “Martin is a company that gives top priority to quality in its development and implementation – and is always striving for perfection in its products. We apply the same principles to planning and realising events as well as to all our internal processes,” says Ralph Müller, who oversees Procurement at N&M. The quality of execution of every single function as well as its practical benefit to the client are crucial to N&M. That was also the case with the new MAC Viper XIP. “And on a personal level, our business relations are very good too.”

The collaboration with Lightpower, the Martin brand distributor in Germany and Austria, was both constructive and professional. Thanks to close consultation and N&M’s early decision to opt for the new MAC Viper XIP, the moving light is now available as part of N&M’s inventory and the desired switch to a new generation has already been partially completed.

N&M technicians have started to put the new MAC Viper XIP through in paces in practice, and it came through with flying colours. “The light combines powerful lumen output with advanced dust and water ingress protection, which means it can be used in a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications. Low noise levels widen the range of deployment options even further. The manufacturer’s tailor-made LED engine and optical system ensure uniform brightness across the entire zoom range as well as outstanding clarity. Finally, the moving light is much smaller, lighter and faster than comparable lights,” said Wagner.
