Fresh off the back of another successful awards season in which it scooped a second TEC Award, Allen & Heath has launched V1.5 firmware for its 96kHz SQ series, ensuring the mixer continues to punch well above its weight with a raft of crowd-pleasing features including new RTA options, 32-channel recording/playback on USB drives, workflow enhancements including DCA spills and new FX add-ons.

SQ-MixPad additions: New RTA and control, 3 possible instances can be connected at once, New routing screen, Online scene and library access, Offline scene and library management, Channel insert control, AMM control, ‘Share’ to cloud.
Safe Patching: New ‘Patch’ button allows you to choose whether you’re patching or just checking.
Indication of Used Socket: Visual indication of whether an input or output socket is in use anywhere (including inserts).
1-to-1 Patching: Quick diagonal block patching for even faster setup.
Display Current Mix/Spill: On-screen display of the current mix (+DCA Spill) at all times.
Channel Delays: Display channel delays in Milliseconds, Samples, Meters or Feet, with temperature setting for distances.
Follow FX Unit: Show the relevant FX unit whenever visiting the FX page.
USB Metering: Check all USB input and output levels (and patching!) at-a-glance.
Soft Controls: New additions for DCA Spill and SQ-Drive with improved state indication.
DCA Recall Filters: Full granular control of DCA’s on Global and Per-Scene recall filters.
MIDI NRPN Fader Law: Use linear external MIDI controls to control levels with an audio taper.
