Ayrton was delighted and proud to receive the LDI 2017 Award for the Most Creative Use of Light at the LDI 2017 in Las Vegas.
The award, presented by the judges, for ‘Ayrton’s cool product presentation that physically re-engages the audience to show their products in a unique setting’ was devised by Lighting Designer Cory FitzGerald and Programme Jason Baeri; and accepted on behalf of the company by Ayrton’s Global Sales Manager, Michael Althaus.
Ayrton, which celebrated the company’s 15th Anniversary in 2017, exhibited a spectacular ‘crystal dome play-zone’, which showcased all their latest products, including many making their US debut, such as the new LED spot, Ghibli.
Attendees witnessed a pyramid composed of 2 opposing triangles of truss that carried bars of 30 alternating Ayrton MagicPanel-FX and 20 Ayrton IntelliPix-XT fixtures, flanked by 10 Ayrton MagicBlade-FX; on the opposite sides were 2 triangular projection screens for showing off the gobo projections from the new Ayrton Ghibli LED spot projector, each with a line of 8 Ayrton NandoBeam-S9 wash lights at the base and 3 Ayrton MagicBurst graphic strobe units at the pinnacle. In between the triangular sides were 4 intersecting spines each loaded with 4 alternating Ayrton Ghibli and 5 Ayrton MagicDot-SX fixtures and edged by 10 Ayrton Merak LED Fresnel fixtures. Central to the pyramid was a bank of 50 new Ayrton MiniPanel-FX.
“This was a fun way to show off Ayrton to the American market in a dynamic and ‘real-world’ environment which visitors really seemed to enjoy,” said Althaus. “Cory and Jason did an amazing job with the design and programming, and the layout allowed people to see the show from different angles and perspectives. We like to present our customers with something new and make them feel part of the adventure when lounging on the booth in anticipation of our new products.”
Althaus concluded: “It gave them a real opportunity to see just how original Ayrton fixtures are and the chance to discuss their designs and aspirations directly with the Ayrton team. Furthermore seeing many visitors return several times and enjoy the show from different viewing angles proved this presentation worked very well. So to be honoured with the Award for the Most Creative Use of Light was the cherry on the top!”
