Vincent Lighting Systems has announced that Bill Groener will be joining VLS as its new President.
Founder and former President, Paul Vincent, will remain connected with VLS as an advisor but Groener, who will be based in the Cleveland area, will be taking on the responsibilities of his new role immediately.
“I have a huge amount of respect for the company that Paul built over the 40-plus years that VLS has been around.” said Groener: “I am humbled and honoured by the fact that Paul thought it was not only a great idea for me to join VLS but to also succeed him as president. It is great to know that Paul is still going to be available as a resource to our team in an advisory role. All in all, it’s a great situation and I’m looking forward to this new challenge.”
Groener’s career spans almost 40 years in the entertainment, themed and architectural technology sectors. Before joining VLS, Groener was the principal of the systems integration firm, GRO(2)B, before that he was the VP of National Business Development for 4Wall Entertainment. Prior to being a 4Wall VP, Groener served as the General Manager for their Systems & Design Division.
Paul Vincent saw Groener as the perfect person to succeed him as president at VLS. “I am very pleased that Bill has agreed to take over the team.” Vincent noted: “Without a doubt, I think he and Tom Siko, our General Manager, will make an excellent team. I know that Bill is going to fit well at VLS. He’s the perfect candidate to come in and take the company into a bright future under his leadership.”
Vincent’s confidence about VLS’ growth potential is shared by Groener, who stated: “This is a tremendous company with a great reputation established through the talented and experienced people there—strong professionals who take pride in doing great work for their clients. I am truly excited to now have this great opportunity to join VLS at this moment, as it is very well-positioned and poised for future growth. I have seen the significant improvements and developments made by Paul and Tom since Tom. I certainly anticipate working very closely with Tom, the Leadership Team, and the rest of the VLS staff as we lead the company moving forward. I see nothing but strong potential for the future.”
Groener reassures customers, vendors, and the industry that this will be a smooth process. He said: “Anyone who works with VLS, in any of our locations, knows that the entire company, including me, is committed to continuing to provide the highest levels of service and support without any disruption. We are going to adhere to VLS’ core values, which means the customer comes first and we take responsibility for all of our actions. Vincent Lighting has a culture that is fundamental to its success and we will build on that. I may come in with some new goals and ideas that we can aspire to in the future, but overall, I am looking forward to being part of building on the strong company that Paul and his team created.”
