The CF Series, a premier collection of point source speakers from Cohesion, has received the additional honour of the Good Design Award, given by The Chicago Athenaeum annually to “the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced around the world.”
The trusted team at Loft Design collaborated with the Cohesion team to unify Cohesion engineering with product brand visuals for the CF Series that earned such high honours.
Originally a co-sponsored exhibition begun in 1950 from Chicago’s famous Merchandise Mart and New York’s venerable Museum of Modern Art, the Good Design Award is today stewarded by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and is the oldest and most prestigious award of its kind worldwide. Out of thousands of submissions from more than fifty countries, the CF Series was one of twenty projects chosen in the category of industrial designs by the international jury of experts on four key design qualities: product function, aesthetics, ease of use, and responsibility/sustainability.
Comprised of four versatile speakers in efficient form factors, the CF Series was engineered with a specific emphasis on ultimate flexibility in a variety of live audio applications, including touring and special events, and permanent installations in venues like theatres, performing arts centres, and houses of worship. Simplified physical forms and increased ease of deployment were the end results.
Loft Design, based in Providence, Rhode Island, had previously worked with Cohesion on developing the visual language for the launch of the CO Series and the overall Cohesion ecosystem in autumn 2023.
CF Series products were most recently utilised on top-grossing tours of Twenty One Pilots, Slipknot, Kenny Chesney, and Melanie Martinez. The CF Series can also be found in the control room at Chase Field in Arizona, the Race Suites throughout Formula 1’s Las Vegas Grand Prix, and in the “VIB” Suites during Riyadh’s blockbuster Soundstorm festival.
