Enlightened applies Nexo at Glastonbury

Head of Installation at Bristol-based Enlightened, Henry Parr took a weekend off from his usual role to mix on the company’s NEXO GEO M10 line array system on the Sensation Seekers stage at the Glastonbury Festival.

With six M10s flown per side and 6 subs on the ground, the job called for a throw of 30 metres to cover a maximum anticipated audience of 3000.

“I’ve had some experience using the larger NEXO GEO M12, but this was my first time using the smaller, single 10-inch M10” reported Parr. “I was really impressed by the power of such a compact system and the way it performed, with consistent SPL even at the back of the field when the crowd swelled to more than 10,000 at times.”

“With such a diverse range of artists and performances on the Sensation Seekers stage, it wasn’t possible to tune the system for any single genre, but the GEO M10 took everything in its stride – bands, circus shows, cabaret and comedy,” he commented.

Sensation Seekers is one of three stages at Glastonbury for which Enlightened provides kit and crew, along with dry hire to another four. The company is also responsible for a number of lighting installations at the festival, including the iconic Glastonbury sign.

“The GEO M10 at Enlightened is a system that spends a lot more time on the road that it does in the warehouse,” concluded Parr. “And that’s what every rental company needs.”
