Smart Monkeys, Inc. have announced that Joy Burke has joined the company in the new position of Senior Manager of Special Projects. She will be based in Orlando. Burke most recently served as Senior Software Engineering Manager at Alcorn McBride where she had a 16-year career in design and product engineering. At Smart Monkeys, Inc., Burke will be responsible for driving business development in the Orlando area where she has extensive market expertise.
Joy will take on a leadership role in developing relationships with third-party solution providers for ISAAC, Smart Monkeys, Inc.’s integrated scheduling and automation control platform.

I’ll be using my experience in product engineering to take the lead in collaborating with ISAAC’s third-party partners and expand our network of vendors.”

An Electrical Engineering graduate, Burke joined Alcorn McBride in 2003 as a Design Engineer responsible for new controller software and hardware. She became Senior Product Engineer in 2014 and in her four years in that role led the software team and supported in-field installation of complex engagements for high profile clients. For the last ten months she acted as Senior Software Engineering Manager leading the company’s show control team.
Burke earned her MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida and is pursuing her MBA at the school’s Warrington College of Business. She was awarded PE certification by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers in 2017 and earned AVIXA CTS status in June. For the past 6 years, Burke has served on the board of the Society of Women Engineers of Central Florida.
