At the 2024 Live Events Summit, TPi Magazine will once again host a selection of panel discussions that share an insight into the live entertainment industry, speaking to specialists who are at the forefront of this industry and shaping the live events of tomorrow.
The Summit which takes place Thursday 1 February 2024, will look at one of the busiest summer festival seasons to date and how numerous A-listers are setting out on ground-breaking, and ambitious stadium tours and how the touring industry is dealing with the challenges of global issues such as increased freight and transport costs and reduced numbers of local crew in territories around the world.
The good news is that this is an industry that is built on the mantra of ‘the show must go on’ and we will share how some of these challenges have been overcome in spectacular fashion and with some truly stunning tours making their way around the world in the past 12 months. From Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour to Taylor Swift’s record-breaking The Eras Tour and not forgetting Harry Styles’ Love On Tour, it’s certainly been a great year for stadium-level pop. 2023 has also seen the opening of the Sphere in Las Vegas, with U2’s phenomenal residency taking the ‘live’ experience to a whole new level.
Technology has been a key driver behind these incredible productions, and at ISE 2024 we will hear from the manufacturers of some of these technologies and how they were used in projects and tours across 2023 and what is new and coming up for 2024 and beyond.
Additionally, there will be a special focus on drone technology and its applications in major large-scale events, drawing inspiration from the Eurovision Song Contest and The Secret Garden Party. And alongside these panel discussions, the Summit will welcome several notable production and lighting designers, who will share their insights on the future of show design and shed light on the changes and emerging trends within the market.
