Germany’s largest dry hire company, Niclen Moving Lights Systems GmbH, has added Elation Professional Cuepix Series LED blinders and Colour Pendant colour-changing LED luminaires to its inventory of rental stock.
The purchase includes both versions of Elation’s popular Cuepix Blinder – the Cuepix Blinder WW2 and Cuepix Blinder WW4. Housing two and four long-life 100W warm white 3,200K COB LEDs respectively, they provide a bright, high-density output that mimics the look of an incandescent source. Ideal for adding high-impact white light to stage productions, both fixtures feature individual pixel control as well as preprogrammed effects macros.
“I really like the flexibility of the Cuepix Blinders,” stated Niclen CEO Bodo Valasik. “They are excellent white light audience blinders with a high CRI but can also be used permanently full-on so have use for tradeshows or other applications where a wide beam angle floodlight is required. It’s also easy to mount two Cuepix WW4 Blinders together to make an eight-light audience blinder.”
Marc Librecht, Sales and Marketing Manager for Elation Europe, added: “We are very pleased that Niclen has chosen to add the Cuepix series of LED blinders to its inventory and know they will benefit from its many advantages. The Cuepix Blinders give the classic look of a two-lite and four-lite but with a fraction of the power requirements. Using the Cuepix Blinders instead of traditional blinders not only saves on power, but with their powerCON connections you don’t have to run a lot of separate cables. When you factor in the reduced weight it makes for quite a money savings.”
Also part of the purchase are Elation Colour Pendant fixtures, a versatile wash light that allows for dynamic control of stage or house lighting levels in an energy-efficient intelligent downlighting fixture. “Colour quality is excellent with the Colour Pendant and their RGBW colour mixing gives a very wide range of colour choices, which also makes them great colour matching units,” Bodo Valasik stated. “Colour projection is very consistent across the beam and they are also surprisingly bright. We expect them to be used in all kinds of shows and special events.” The Colour Pendant is convection cooled for silent operation and operates flicker free, meaning it can be used in all types of broadcast situations as well.
Niclen is located at the centre of TV production in Dortmund in western Germany and partners with nearly every production company in Germany to carry a complete stock of moving heads, LED video and trussing, all from a wide variety of manufacturers.
