PRG illuminates Munich’s Tollwood festival with GLP

PRG Germany has been responsible for providing The Tollwood Summer Festival’s entire equipment inventory for over 20 years. This applies to all tents, as well as all outdoor and ambient lighting.

This year PRG relied on a large number of outdoor-capable (IP65) LED PAR spots with zoom from the X-PAR series from FUSION by GLP. 142 FUSION X-PAR 12Z, 78 of the ultra-compact FUSION X-PAR 8Z, 32 GLP impression X5 Wash and various other models were used in different positions.

“The GLP fixtures were actually distributed across the entire festival site—both inside and outside,” confirmed Stefan Templer, PRG Account Manager. “For those FUSION devices that were primarily used outdoors for ambient lighting, this meant four weeks of all-weather use, which they managed without any problems.”

Since PRG was directly involved in the development of the first model in the FUSION X-PAR series, the X-PAR 12Z, it made sense to also include the X-PAR 8Z with a significantly smaller form factor in the inventory. “Despite its very compact design, the X-PAR 8Z offers surprisingly good light output with good colour rendering (CRI 90 / TLCI 80+). Zoom and Fresnel lens also make it very flexible to use,” added Matthias Allhoff, Director of Asset Strategy at PRG Germany.

The FUSION X-PAR 8Z is the most compact and lightest model in FUSION by GLP’s X-PAR series of weatherproof (IP65) LED PARs with motorised zoom. From a 80 watt RGBL LED, the X-PAR 8Z emits up to 1,800 lm with light quality thanks to GLP’s proprietary iQ.Gamut colour technology.

“Basically, the X-PAR 8Z is exactly the all-purpose solution we have been awaiting for a long time! Its specifications were ideal for the Tollwood festival,” Stefan Templer added. “It is ideal for all purposes there, such as lighting tent roofs (mounted on tent poles), small outdoor and indoor stages, and various scene areas, as well as ambient lighting (beer gardens, trees, works of art and other areas). An excellent, versatile outdoor LED PAR.”
