Serious Stages have wrapped up its summer season with the company providing stages and site structures for BBC Radio 2’s Party in the Park concert in Moor Park, Preston.
The Serious TZ 25m roof main stage was designed in collaboration with clients’ Festival Republic and the BBC, creating a striking performance area. It was flanked by goalposts carrying a PA and giant LED screens, with extensions for a DJ platform, stage right, for Radio 2 DJ sets between bands, with a total frontage of 55m.
Serious also installed the stage platform in the tented Radio 2 stage, which featured DJ sets on Friday night and throughout Saturday and Sunday, along with FOH towers, assisted viewing platforms and speaker delays.
“The BBC’s designers came up with a fabulous aesthetic once again. Our TZ Stage looked great for the varied bands presented to live audience and the viewers on BBC iPlayer. We’ve seen organisers transforming our TZ system to suit their needs this summer, from Download and Glastonbury to Wireless and Electric Picnic festivals,” Serious Stages Operations Manager Abbey Thomas said. “This roof is very versatile for rigging different configuration of lighting, screens, pa systems and headliners sets, with plenty of capacity to enable the quick turnaround of sets and backline equipment throughout the weekend.”
Radio 2 took place the final weekend of the busy summer for the company, who also installed the stage for Glastonbury’s Pilton Party taking place the same weekend.
