London-based lighting and AV rental and production company, Halo, has invested in Astera Titan Tubes and AX3 LightDrops.

The first Titan Tubes arrived in March 2021 and used to light the company’s pop-up streaming studio, which was built in part of the warehouse during lockdown. “More and more clients booking the space for their streams, recordings and video shoots were asking for Asteras, so we decided to buy some,” Yann Guenancia explained, having founded the company in 1989.

Halo’s stock of Astera solutions includes seven individual eight-way sets of Titan Tubes, four sets of four-way, 2m Hyperion Tubes and a pair of eight-way AX3 LightDrops cases. “Astera Tubes were being requested mainly for studio work and effects,” Halo Head of Rental and Hires, Alex Allen reported. “They are great all-round, versatile products that are usable in a number of different scenarios.”

As well as being impressed by the fixtures, Allen praised the Astera Academy during the lockdown. “It was one of the first brands offering great online training without a direct selling element, and a great way to introduce people to, and educate them about, the products and the Astera philosophy.”

Halo provides technical expertise and maintenance to several venues in London, where Titan Tubes are often specified. “They are easily and instantly deployable,” Allen remarked. “Astera has really done this properly and thought of everything to make a creative modular LED system.”

Allen praised the “great service” that distributor, Ambersphere Solutions provide for Astera.

Meanwhile, Guenancia’s long-term goals include being the biggest and most comprehensive repository for Astera products in buzzing central London. In September, Halo expanded its inventory for with the purchase of an eight-way PixelBrick set, a trio of eight-way Titan Tube cases and three sets of Hyperion Tubes.
