TAWBOX, the creative directors for Stormzy, Dave and Mabel are celebrating after the BRIT Awards 2020 with Mastercard, where its artists won the three major categories at the prestigious 2020 ceremony. Stormzy took home Male Solo Artist, with Mabel winning Female Solo Artist and Dave Mastercard Album of the Year for ‘Psychodrama’.
During the show the creative studio were also responsible for delivering a stellar night of music, creating performances by Stormzy, Dave and Mabel. TAWBOX, made up of Bronski and Amber Rimell, were the creative directors behind the showstopping performances at London’s O2 Arena.
Opening the show with a big, colourful, pop explosion, Mabel delivered a performance of her hit single Don’t Call Me Up. Proving he is one of the greatest performers in music today, Stormzy took to the stage performing a medley consisting of Don’t Forget to Breathe, Do Better, Wiley Flow, Own It (with Burna Boy), Anybody (Burna Boy) and Rainfall (with Tiana Major). The performance was a celebration of the year Stormzy has had, sharing the stage with a cast of 143 talented individuals, forming a medley that was a celebration of what black culture can achieve on the biggest stage. The last of TAWBOX’s show creations of the evening was Dave, who performed a political and powerful rendition of Black. Never taking away from the heart and message of Dave’s words, the piano featured the use of extended reality, forming a 3D world that supported the lyric and paid respect to Jack Merritt and Saskia Jones who lost their lives in the London Bridge terror attack on November 29 last year.
Along with the performances at last night’s BRIT Awards, TAWBOX were responsible for some of music’s biggest moments in 2019, including Stormzy’s iconic Glastonbury headline performance, which made international headlines. The creative studio also delivered Dave’s 2019 Psychodrama tour, Mabel’s EMA performance and AJ Tracey’s two sold out shows at Alexandra Palace.

Dave used his opportunity of the biggest stage to pour out emotive and political heart, and to then leave the stage with possibly the most important mic drops of recent times. The performance incorporated a lot of technology aimed at the camera to visually support his poetry, but that never, once detracted from the heart and emotion of Dave’s words and expression.
Stormzy once again leaves no doubt that he is one of the greatest performers of modern times. From his soft, pure singing to the hardest delivery of vocal, that performance was pure showmanship. We love that Stormzy is so graceful in sharing the stage too, and all the additional performers brought their own talent to the table that night to help create a hugely dynamic performance that was simply a spectacle”.
