Workers from the live entertainment and event industry in Ireland are raising awareness of the devastating impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on businesses and individuals working in the sector. Uniting under the #ThisIsWhoWeAre hashtag, the campaign – which is organised by the Event Production Industry COVID Working Group (EPIC) – is raising awareness and lobbying politicians for support.
To launch the week-long initiative, a large group of event professionals gathered in Linear Park outside the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) for a socially-distanced peaceful protest on Tuesday 15 September. To add additional impact, Brendan Kenny and his company Light Sound Service setup 12 ADJ Hydro Beam X1 and 12 ADJ Hydro Beam X2 IP65-rated moving heads and used them to shoot striking beams of white light up into the night sky behind the event professionals.
