DTS Lighting has won Best Debuting Product Award at LDI 2021. The accolade, hosted during an exhibition in Las Vegas, was given to the Italian lighting manufacturer for its latest wash moving head – Alchemy 7.
Alchemy 7 was designed in order to widen its range and offer a high-power, high-efficiency product. Much like its predecessors, it harnesses the creative capabilities of a Fresnel light on a moving head.
With a 250mm lens, a two-blade framing system and a six-LED colour chip, Alchemy 7 is capable of light quality and a wide range of pastel shades. The product was introduced to the market, following comprehensive feedback from lighting designers and directors of photography.
This fixture’s output offers a performance for small to larger venues, with up to 22.000 lumen. Moreover, thanks to the linear CCT it is possible to range from 1800K to 10000K, reaching CRI and TLCI up to 98 and 96. Its two-blade framing system makes it possible to manage light projection, thanks to rotation which reaches 180°.
Alchemy 7 also offers the option to mix between different gel filters or desaturate them, adjusting the colour temperature or the green saturation. Its adjustable green-magenta point makes it possible for the colour to adapt to any kind of skin tone. The projector’s Tungsten Emulation function is reportedly one of its most notable qualities, which makes it possible to recreate the same effect of a halogen lamp on the dimming curve. Alchemy 7 also boasts an ‘Ultra Silent’ mode, delivering a maximum noise of 38db.
The Best Debuting Product Award was accepted by DTS Lighting International Sales Manager, Carmen Savarese and Ola Melzig, one of the four founders of Apex Technologies.
“Coming back to LDI after a long time and being awarded the Best Debuting Product Award in 2021 is a huge achievement for us, especially after two very difficult years for the entertainment industry,” Savarese commented. “We’re grateful that the judges saw the great potential and strength that make Alchemy 7 a great, innovative product, and we’re grateful for our colleagues at DTS, especially the Research and Development team that designed the projector!”
Savarese praised Melzig and the Apex Technologies team, with whom DTS recently established an exclusive partnership for the North American market. “I believe winning this award marks the beginning of the wonderful journey we embarked upon together, and I look forward to a future full of professional accomplishments.”
