A.C.T Lighting served up big helpings of home-cooked BBQ with sides of the latest products from Clay Paky, Robert Juliat, ChainMaster and Eurotruss at a showcase special event during the recent CMA Music Festival in Nashville.
“We wanted to give back to the Nashville community where we have a lot of loyal customers,” said Brian Dowd, Vice President Sales at A.C.T Lighting. “We decided to host a product showcase and barbecue during the week of the CMA Music Festival, the largest country music event in country music’s home.”
A.C.T Lighting selected Nashville rehearsal studio Soundcheck for its showcase venue, where area rental houses, lighting shops, and lighting designers and programmers were invited to view the products and enjoy the barbecue.
Dowd, a former competitive BBQ chef, and his co-workers strapped on their aprons and began cooking ‘real southern barbecue’ in the Soundcheck parking lot at 9pm for meal service from noon to 6pm the next day.
Meanwhile, Soundcheck’s Studio I was filled with the newest products in A.C.T Lighting’s inventory from industry leaders Clay Paky, Robert Juliat, ChainMaster and Eurotruss. Clay Paky’s new Scenius Profile fixture attracted lots of attention; the event being many guests’ first chance to see the product.
“We’ve focussed on building business in Nashville for the last five or six years,” Dowd said. “The country music market in Nashville has been growing non-stop – both live music and touring. It has become a really strong market for us, and we were glad to give back to a community that’s been so good to us.”
