Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, the annual music festival held in San Francisco’s historic Golden Gate Park, has used GIGS Barricades as a key part of their crowd safety solution for several years.
The 2016 festival featured over 60 musical acts, comedians, local food vendors, artists, and chefs representing the diversity of San Francisco’s artistic community. The site consisted of a variety of stages, FOH platforms, delay towers, followspot positions, and VIP viewing areas with GIGS Barriers providing crowd protection.
eps america’s GIGS Stage Barricade System can fully service any structure or barrier design. For the Main Stage (Land’s End), GIGS T-Corners and Vario pieces were used to create a safe split between general admission and the VIP ground viewing area, to provide separate viewing sections for ticket-holders. For the Twin Peaks stage, GIGS Flex-Corner pieces were essential in securing a stable barricade line across elevation changes.
In addition to supplying the festival with barriers, eps america provided its lightweight strand-cast aluminium LD Panels as a drivable pathway system for the festival load-in and load-out. The interlocking, treaded panels provided sturdy temporary access roads while protecting the grounds of this historic park.
Over the three-day weekend event, over 60,000 attendees flocked to the park daily to see acts such as LCD Soundsystem, Major Lazer, Lana Del Rey, Radiohead, and Lionel Richie.
