Wiltshire based special effects company, Quantum SFX, has been awarded Best Visual Spectacular at both the Festival Supplier Awards and Event Production Awards 2017.
It is the second year running that the Quantum team have taken home Best Visual Spectacular at the Festival Supplier Awards. Last year the company received the award for their towering pyrotechnic display provided for Metallica’s headline slot at Reading and Leeds Festival.
This year the award ceremony recognised the team for their work at BST Hyde Park with Mumford & Sons and Take That for which they supplied two bespoke programmes of special effects.
Phil Mundy, Manager at Quantum SFX and the man behind the aerial pyro displays, commented: “To be awarded for the second year running is a real honour for the whole team at Quantum. It was a total pleasure to work with all the those involved and be a part of creating two unique festival shows in the heart of London.”
At The Event Production Awards the SFX team were recognised for their work on the Adele Arena Tour. Quantum provided two brand new custom effects for the show that visited over 40 different arenas worldwide. These included a minute long confetti storm that filled each venue with personalised confetti and a sleek digital rain system that surrounded Adele with four walls of water for the duration of Set Fire to the Rain.
Managing Director Shaun Barnett said: “For the Adele arena tour we really put all our engineering and creative expertise into providing two totally bespoke effects that were previously unavailable to the market. It was fantastic to have the opportunity to do this and we are so excited to have this accolade to reward the team’s efforts.”
