Specialist lighting and rigging services provider TSL has appointed two of its account handlers, Dominic Sheerman and Loz Wilcox, to its board of directors.
The two respected event production professionals now join TSL’s founder and managing director Sam Tamplin in steering both the TSL and Blinding Light operations in their future growth.
Sheerman and Wilcox joined the TSL family from Basingstoke-based conference and event lighting specialist Blinding Light in 2017, prior to its acquisition by TSL at the start of 2018. Since then, a successful period of integration has seen systems and processes aligned to the benefit of both operations. Now, the board appointments signal the beginning of the next phase of growth for the company.
Sam Tamplin commented: “We’ve reached the stage where we are a team of more than 60 people. It was time to strengthen the management structure, ready for the next stage of development. Since Blinding Light joined us, we’ve all taken the time to settle in and figure out how we work together, and now the time is right.”
He added: “In building the company, I’ve always looked for people who bring added experience and knowledge, but who also share the same values, commitment to high standards and vision for the future. With Dom and Loz we’ve found exactly that. They’ll be able to help shape the company in the right way in future. And we get on very well together, which is important – making decisions is much more fun.”
Wilcox agreed: “The three of us make a really good team. It’s a clear message that we’re in a strong position to move things forward as one company. We’re now expanding into markets which we traditionally haven’t worked in, we’re expanding our rigging offering, investing in new equipment, taking on more resource, more experienced people, and we’ll continue to grow organically in that fashion.”
Sheerman added: “For both Loz and I, it’s great to bring our experience to this management team, with all three of us working towards the same goal. Sam has a very similar vision of the way the company should progress, and the quality and standards it should adhere to – and that’s very refreshing.”
TSL and Blinding Light will continue to operate under their respective names and serving their respective customer bases while benefiting from the added strength of the combined resources, management and processes of the expanded company. All members of the current team remain in place at both locations.
